Shad fishing

I was just wondering was any of the members down to st mullins yet ?

yea went down to have a look at the spot gave it a go 2 days ago was only fishing half an hour top of the tide no bites

The big tides starting next week will usually usher in the first fish.

Fished every day this week, nothing. This morning from 6 to 8 got one abt .7 kg no more. may wait 4 big tides in the week.
River in great condition. Comp next Sun. 10 -2 Keep ye posted

how big do the shads grow to..

1.1kg is a specimen and a very good fish. I would say the average would be about 0.8kg
