I know of a few anglers who catch their fair share who swear they are a great lure however the one I have has never proved itself when trying it in 3 different UK locations - I have never ever tried it in Ireland due to my lack of confidence in it. It has been relegated from even my B list lure box now.

Thanks Matt, I read one review bloke from the UK said he had great success with the Glass Ghost the smaller one he said the Bass love them.

I managed to get about 10 of them a couple of years ago for €5 each, Ive done ok with them but like Pat there are other lures I would go to first. They do have a nice darting action and look very convincing in clean water. To be honest most of the Bass I hear of being caught out here in the West are on cheap old German Spratts or Dexter's Wedges.

I here you Pat, we spend each winter buying all sorts of plugs and then revert to the tried and tested come summer. :)
What are your reliables?
Mine are Patchinkos, Shallow Feeds. I've caught on plenty of others but off the top I have loads of confidence in the patchinko and the shallow feed has been great sub surface.
I've taken a real shine to the Lucky craft Gunfish though and I'm hoping it'll give the patchinko a run for the money this year!

The gunnish will give it a run for its money. Although, the patchinko is an excellent lure I think the gunfish has outfished it for me. Both of them are versatile lures and aren't one trick ponies.

As far as reliables are concerned the feed shallows and tide minnows are excellent. Although, I have still have great store on the Duel Alie Magnet, especially when boat fishing. Husky Jerks are still an auld favourite...as I have justed posted on, on another forum :? .

I don't know the Husky Jerk, I'll have to look it up.
I'll be dusting off the boat in the next month or so and I'll keep the Duel Alie Magnet in mind.
