Braid Experiences

Hi Guys,

I switched to braid this year after reading some of the previous posts to see if it would impact by lure fishing. My initial impression was extremely positive, I was casting further and definitely seeing an improvement in the lure action when fishing surface lures. On my third outing I got a really bad tangle and lost so much line it noticeable impacted my casting which after having spent about €45 on the line was to put it mildly a pain. So I added more backing and kept at it and same result. The reel I was using is fairly new but cost about the same as the line so may be that was a false economy (I know blaming the tools...). Just bad luck or am I missing somethign you need to wtach for when fishing braid?

cheers

The only thing i can say is invest in a good spinning reel
any thing from shimano will have a good line lay
and dont over fill your reel
if ya do a lot of top water fishing it will loosen your line on your reel
it will help if you do a straight cast and wind it straight back
hope this helps
