New Spinning Rod

Mon Oct 05, 2009 5:07 pm

I have posted this already in the Tackle Reviews Section but Im thinking I might get a better response here.

Hello

Long time reader but first time poster.

I need help.....
After an accident with my spinning rod last week the time has come for it to be replaced.

I use a Shimano Technium 4000FB reel and am looking for a light rod (preferably 9ft) to go with it.
It will be used for Bass fishing with floating and diving plugs and also Xlayers.

Can anyone recommend a rod in the region of €130-€200 that they think I will enjoy using?

Any help will be really appreciated as I am getting bogged down with internet searches.

Thanks Everyone

Hi

The tackle shop only stocks Penn, Shakepeare, Shimano and Daiwa rods so as I want to use the voucher for it there my options are seeming to be limited.

Any help appreciated.

You can try the Shimano Catana BX 270 (9ft) for a lot less than 100 euro. It will compensate nicely with your Technium. I have a 240 (8ft) and am very happy with it. You can buy some lures with the rest of the voucher. The rods come in different casting ranges, including 10-30 or 15-40 g. Otherwise I would recommend the Sakura Shukan if you can get it in your tackle shop.

Cheers for that, was looking at the US lite and the Catana in Murray's, went for an 8ft 15-40 Catana in the end. Cheap as chips at €40 but can't afford much more at the mo... we'll see how it works out (sorry OP for hijack), have an 11ft 20-56g rod already and was looking for something smaller and lighter.
