Fishing soft plastic lures - where to find info'

Hi
I am getting really interested in fishing soft plastic lures but I am also aware that the methods of using them is not simply chuck and retrieve. Can anyone tell me where I might find information on techniques of fishing with soft plastic lures either online or books ?

you have a PM - also check rapala joes posts here in this section - a very early and perhaps the first, still the best, soft lure posts made on this forum.

It was in fact the thread started by RJ in Nov 2007 'Soft Plastic..... Rigging, Application,& Presentation' that got my interest up. Was that the thread you are referring to ?
Can't remember how I came across it but it was a fascinating thread, but as a consequence I have loads of questions
One of my questions is perhaps something you could answer ? If I have understood correctly you are using very light weights when fishing soft plastics (?) If this is the case then is there not a consequence on casting distance i.e. are we now talking about limited casting distances of up to maybe 20 mtrs max ????

Last I heard was that Joe had gone back home to Malaysia but I think Ritchie might still be in contact with him, so he'd be the guy to ask.
That's a great thread by Joe though it has to be said and I must admit that it really opened my eyes to the world of soft plastics, lots of useful information in there and tbh I'm a little surprised that it isn't stickied.
