Over the last couple of months ive rediscovered my love for fishing but im fed up fishing the harbours in dublin,so after weeks of looking on this site and others i decided lure fishing for bass/pollack is the way i want to go,i got myself a mike ladle 1010pro and a shimano saragosa 4000 and a few plugs and spinners, im gona give red rock sutton a go, just want to know is this a good place to start,any tips appreciated

Hi, Im not familiar with red rock for lure fishing but you could use spinners and artificial sandeels at the back of the lighthouse on the east pier(i think!) in howth. I use the sandeels about 1 foot behind a one ounce weight cast it out and spin it close to the seabed. This will get you mackeral and pollock. Hope this helps

i tried low tide at dawn from sutton side of tower to the mussell beds with no luck but i saw 1 fish and the place certainly looks the part. weather didnt help.
ill be tryin a bit for the next few months around north dublin and ill let you know how i get on.
lookin for a 1st bass on lure myself

red rock sutton well worth a chuck, I got my first plug bass there about 4 years ago on a high tide coinciding with dawn
