Not personally but I think I remember Bob Moss talking about catching flounders on lures.

I think Jim Hendrick also mentioned techniques for catching flounder on a fly!

they will go for flies alright. as teacher says, jim hendrick wd be the best guy to query on this.

I ve seen someone catch a flounder using a mepp up the blackwater in capquin in waterford

now that you mention it - I think the blade type rigs - mepps blade with a mono trace with lots of beads to small hook with bait on it fished slowly enough do catch flatties! I'm sure i've seen this before.

This fellow was after sea trout and brown trout about 15 miles up a river

I caught flounder to a small flying c in ferrycarrig, wexford (retrived slowly). I mentioned it on this site somewhere..

had the same experience myself. I was spinning on the Carrowniskey river in louisbourg was about 1mile up river caught a lovely flounder on a lure :shock: some green flashy sexy one, thats the lure not the fish.

i know eric got one on a lure also this past year

i think there was an american fella on the site a year or 2 ago getting 40+cm ones on lures but that was over the other side of the atlantic

i had one about 4 years ago on a macky feather and my uncle drew had one on a macky feather this year too. (both dab)
