That certainly is some Mackerel, I'd imagine it gave you some fight alright. I really wish Mackerel of that size were more common, pound for pound they really are great little scrappers.

biggest i have got was about 2lb and it put up a great scrap on light spinning gear, what was even better was the garfish i got the next cast

macks arent the most respected of sea fish but once they reach that size you cant do anythin but respect them for gettin to that size with the amount of gannets, seals and macky bashers about our shores ! !
