It was tough going to keep the concentration up for the 2 hours
The fish was over 2 metres long which puts him on the
'hel break the boat up if he gets inside list' , he broke the leader soon after the video ended and swam back down.
We had 2 60lb Halibut in the boat before I hooked this one, when this one came to the surface he made the 60lb lads look small

.
It was some experince .. . . .but never again

Ah Andrew If ya had of seen me for the other 1hr and 40mins of the fight, beeps every where, especially when the fish went on another run and strips the line it took you 30mins to get on the reel, it takes it in a couple of seconds....
Gotta love it.
Danny.

i reckon that that is as good as it gets Danny. thats fantastic fishing
it has always been an ambition of mine to head up there, hopefully soon, but i wouldnt even know where to begin organising a trip like that. are there fishing tour operators or did you sit and plan each leg of the journey one stage at a time..?
can you give me an idea of the cost per head? and where to stay..? time of year? duration? etc
any advice appreciated. thanks, charlie

How ya Chuckaroo,
We booked our flights ourselves, and everything else was arranged through Anglers World.
Din Tur also do packages to Norway too.
Budget for €2000 for an 8 day trip including travel/transport. Aim to go on the bigger tides, and you will obviously get more fishing time during the midnight sun, but thats booked up a couple of years in advance.
Hope that helps.
Danny.
