Hounds

Very recently I got an invite from a good friend of mine (Macker) to join him on the East Coast for chance to catch some smoothounds. Sure as sure can be I accepted the offer and wasn't long about setting a date. A 5am start and a quick wake up call to David seen us arrive at the launch spot just after 6.15am. We got rigged up after the usual chat and set about a 2 km paddle to meet Macker, Dowdie and Deco who had been camping for a couple of days. It took us a while but we soon found 3 kayaks beached up and some tents in the back round. Lucky for them that we got there when we did as some little __ was lobbing stones at the tents (it wasnt me honest)

After a quick chat Macker told us where to go and sure enough we werent long waiting for the hounds to appear and not just hounds. I had dabs, codling, doggies and whiting aswell, We were anchored in about 40 ft of water with the sun beamining in us but although it appeared to be warm the sea breeze could cut you in half.

After a couple of hours fishing both me and David set off on our merry way to paddle back against the wind, I was sweating so much I actually thought water leaked into the dry suit ! There was many hounds caught that day with me taking 7 and this fella the best of them. Another cracking day on the water big thanks to Macker Deco and Dowdie for planning the session
