Grabal bay cork

Postby mawk » Sun Jan 20, 2013 9:15 pm

hey guys,
Im waiting for a break in the weather over the next weekend or two to try my new ride 135 on a fishing trip. Graball has been on my to do list for a while but I have never actually fished it. Any advice?

Might be tough this time of year. You bait or lure fishing?

Probably lures at the moment as there is no anchor trolly on the new boat yet. I know there are bass in ther area too which would be a nice early year surprise too.

Haven't tried plugging for cod before though. Sounds interesting

The cod have been quiet lately. Hopefully if we get a weather window things might be somewhat better. we had some great fishing this time last year.

If you are going to be lure fishing I would think you should get yourself kitted with some soft plastics. It would be far and away the best bet for catching on lures at this time of year. You might just catch bass in Graball but it will be hard work at this time of year too.

Keep an eye on here for the regular meet ups from Roches Pt. - Grand bunch: http://www.irishkayakangling.com/forum/

I would give this weekend a miss, looks like there's a bit of a storm on the way.

thats a sore spot at the moment..

its speculated that i may have gotten set up, drove down to church bay, unstrapped the kayak, got into a wetsuit and on the way down to the water realised I had no paddle with. :(

and then lost a brand new plug off the shore.
