Paddlers in the North?

Sun Dec 27, 2009 7:37 pm

Hi
have been reading a bit recently about Kayaks and I think I fancy it. Just started shore fishing this year but would like a bit more freedom around the marks (and could do with the exercise)! Canoed in scottish rivers 30 years ago but only sailed since. Have all the wet gear and buoyancy aids etc.
I quite like the look of the Shakespeare angler 145, does anyone have one, what do you think? Any other recommendations welcomed! I am 5'11" and not under 15.5 stone!
Before I would go and spend some hard earned mewla is there anyone in North Down or the Ards peninsula who would let me have a paddle in theirs first? Obviously when the temperatures improve a bit (have done too many winter sailing series)!
Cheers
