SCI results Sunday April 24th Slaughterhill

Postby scannerman » Mon Apr 25, 2016 3:55 pm

Great day on the hill today. A NNW wind meant we had to set up court in the lower field and cast uphill but this was the only feasible choice. The 10-20km wind was mainly consistent as was the usual Slaughterhill variant
Even so some fine casts were achieved. Andrew naturally gave a master class and Paddy was'nt too far behind. Cast of the day however must go to Ger O Donnell who had a best of 192Meters [209.9 Yrds in old money] his first time ever on a casting court and an uphill one at that!! I would'nt be surprised if Ger hits 200ms at the next meeting given good conditions.

A big thanks to all who attended, especially Martin Campbell who made the long journey down from the North and Ger O Donnell and his mate Simon who made the long journey up from the South and also crucially discovered both my crackoffs including the one which was supposed to have travelled five miles but actually fell so miserably short that the only non caster with us-Simon found it.! The craic as usual was super. :D

And thanks also to everyone who helped place and take down the court.
