Look on YouTube for vids with Kevin Southey from England and on total sea fishing site I think there is a tutorial on the back cast. Rod wise It seems back casters favor a stiff through action rod I know Kevin used Zziplex M427s and also a mega stiff old Zziplex quatra sport, hope this helps.

I think kevin's rods are Quattra Sport "Tri-Core" these are alot stiffer than the Quattra sport.. But most stiffer actioned rods would do the job fine.... Check out Duane Lockwood in this vid,, one of the best backcasts Ive seen in a while, he recently he did 258m at Steyning

I've seen Daiwa TDXS 133 rods putting 3 baits 150yards plus on the beach using a backcast. A mighty sight to behold!!

Any particular reason for wanting to learn it?

if you are going to fish with it, the Daiwa, if just for casting the TTR.

Of course all down to personal choice, expensive mistake to buy the wrong rod for your needs. Try get to use either if possible.

Good Luck.
