can i use braid on a fixed spool for tournament casting?

Not 100% sure but I think not. Someone else will know for sure. As far as I'm aware it's all monofilament.

Here are the UKSF rules which are followed by most for tournament casting;

They may cast braid at tournaments far afield like south america, japan etc but for most here in europe it is mono.

Yes your right, no braid allowed for abvious reasons, casters tend to need their thumbs :lol: :lol:

chickens :lol: :lol: :lol: i think if the same diameter braid was used as mono distance would be less anyway due to monos ability to come off the spool quicker without digging in on itself, braids advantage is its super thin diameter for casting and lack of stretch really only an advantage while fishing :?:

Braid by it's construction is much rougher than Monofilament so the benefit of its low diameter is outweighed by the friction of it passing over the spool lip and rod rings.
