hey everyone i got this daiwa 7ht, opened it up to check the brake blocks and there is nothing there, can anyone tell me or do any of you casters have a few spare bits for me to help slow this sucker down a bit.

You have opened the wrong side!! The brake blocks are on the two little pins attached to the spool on the drive side (handle side) they should be either red or White ones, for fishing you will be safe enough with 1 block and start off with red rocket fuel, (thick viscosity) and the swap over to yellow RF.
if there are no blocks in the reel let me know I think I have some at home...

Thanks Paddyc your rite again, its only got 1 red block so i may pick some up next time i'm in courtown, Do you have to clean the bearings first before putting the red oil in or just soak them??

better off cleaning them in some lighter fluid if the reel's been used quite a bit, leave them for a couple of hours to dry out fully then oil them up again, a few drops in each should suffice

i,m only back from galway and i,m going no where else in the near future :twisted:
