Check out the under whipping on the butt ring on this rod, can anyone fill me in on how this look is achevied??

you can do this with a perminent marker

you can get threads for tiger wraps or you can do it with the marker to are you liking it paddy

The first one looks like like it might be a spray on the blank and epoxied over.

The second one looks like marbled epoxy to me.

ye it mite be spray on the first one but the second one i think is electra metallic thread with marbled high build over it

Deffo a metallic thread of some sort shane, and I have to say, it looks nice. Not too difficult a finish to achieve if you have the time and a few old pieces of carbon to practice on.

I would love to be able to do this...

or even to whip eyes on. I would like to turn my AA surf into a proper fixed spool rod

paddy recons all you need is a roll of red butchers tape :D kstaff recons you can use recycled butchers tape :lol:
