Casting in Australia 28th Sept '08

Postby JPS » Sun Sep 28, 2008 12:54 pm

Well must say that todays casting was extremely enjoyable for a number of reasons for the guys that were able to make ity down.

The weather conditions were quite good with a West , North west wind blowing consistently for the day so we didn't have to change the court direction as we thought would be the cast . Also even though we have quite a few dark cloud spells come over the field no rain was encountered.

Attendance was down with a few of the regulars missing in the plac of Nick, Murray, Luke , His dad and John but still had enough casters to make it interesting. Also a new face with young David who did a fantastic job with his first ever attempt at the overhead and doing remarkably well . He will be a force in the future if he keeps it up

Results are as follows :

Lee Andrews
125 gram 246.30 , 150 Gram 237.28 , 175 gram 233.67 , 200 gram 224.46 (PB  )

Jeremy Schrader
75 gram 208.92 , 100 gram 238.70 , 125 gram 231.70 , 150 gram 220.94 , 175 gram 233.40(PB  ) , 200 gram 220.75(PB  )

Mark Johnson
100 gram 207.23 , 125 gram 218.47 , 150 gram 202.78 , 175 gram 195.35

Eddie Dalidivock (?) - All OTG
100 Gram 202.75 , 125 gram 214.90(PB  ) , 150 gram 214.60(PB  ) 175 gram 198.38

Graham Johnson ( 4 PB's  )
75 gram 166.40 , 100 gram 183.67 , 125 gram 177.45 , 150 gram 172.23

David ( Need your last Name ) - OTG
O/Head reel First time ever using one
125 gram 167.83 (PB  )
Side cast with Butterworth rod
125 gram 122.36

It was great to see Dave trying my Kilwell 222 and Grahams 7HT Mag and progressively improving during the day to hit his new PB's
Fantastic effort and someone to look out for as he becomes more familiar with the outfits.

From NSW Scott Selby and his Dad Ces were also able to get out for a short session but from Scott's perspective a fantastic result.

Scott casting the 175 gram off one of his dad's hand made reels hit a massive 269 meters.(PB   )
Conditions were hot but with a good wind pushing through.
A huge cast with the big lead

And Ces also registered a top cast of 215 meters  with the 125 gram, at 66 years old and with bad shoulders it is a great effort and fantastic to see Ces still out on the field pushing out big casts

I will try and get the video footage that I took posted up in the next day or so.

Regards
