A quick rundown on two days of good casting and great craic.

We maybe didn't have the numbers that we first expected but still had plenty of novices to keep us on our toes. The great thing about the manageable turnout was that every caster went home with a far bettter understanding of casting and I think we will see many of them at future Ulster Casting club events

Paul Hawthorne came along from Craigavon for instruction and after tuition from the Ulster Casting Club improved by 100 yards and won first prize closely followed by Mark Rainey from Carrickfergus in 2nd. In the juniors, Alan McKeen (10) from Belfast walked away with 1st prize and will have his name engraved in the perpetual cup. As well as picking up the cup, Alan picked up £150 worth of fantastic prizes.

A big thanks to the sponsers which include :-

Belfast Angling Centre Belfast - Argyle Business Centre, North Howard St, Belfast
Causeway Bait and Tackle - 106, Main St, Bushmills
Causeway Bait and Tackle - 78, Main St, Portrush
Dennett Outdoor - 119, Lisnaragh Rd, Dunamanagh, Strabane
Loughs Agency - 22 Victoria Rd Londonderry
McKees Angling Centre Bangor - Unit 12 16 Balloo Avenue Bangor
Trap and Tackle - 6 Seacliff Rd Bangor

There where a good few that past through but I only managed to grab the camera on a few occasions over the weekend. I went with all the best of intentions of getting loads of pics but when you are presented with a fantastic big field, a load or rods and a bag full of reels to blow up prioritys change.

Yes Paddy its a great venue. Its just a pitty we didn't have loads of fields like that scattered around the country. 8)

Sorry you couldn't make it over John. It was a good weekend and me and the others were looking forward to catching up with you.

I don't know if I turned out to be a help or a hindrance Keith but the main thing was those that attended enjoyed themselves and ended up with a few extra yards as well. :D

ROLL ON TH FINAL !!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D
