Even if your only out for a practice session remember EVERYTHING on your right hand side is in the danger zone, (opp side for left hookers)
Safety is paramount hence the rule- a MINIMUM of 10lb per oz of lead used and i recomend for any one out practicing their casting uses 80lb shockleader all the way for 4/5 and 6oz, remember safety 1st.
Thank you.

At the end of the day you can never be to careful. Even if a persons cast is 100% all the time (which it won't be) their leader, knot or lead link may not be. Never take the chance of casting with people in the danger zone. Even if they seem far away its not far enough.

Great post Paddy and one which I think should be a sticky on every casting forum. Just sorry that a persons death started it.
