Casting Instructor.

I know a guy from Kerry called Steve Gillet he gave me some lessons and stayed with me till I got the general technique.
As far as I know he is qualified in the area of pendulum casting instruction he uses the same technique as Neil Mackellow for a small guy he really blasts the lead to a great distance.
I was at a competition in Kilmuckridge Wexford and some of the lads from Dublin were hitting it out fairly far just beyond a sand bank I always seemed to land on it catching f*%k all so a week later off I went to Kilarney with my reel met Steve and havent had any problems since.
The technique is easy it only a matter of getting the right timing.
Maybe Dublin would be closer but I know a guy who got in touch with me through the web about casting instructors in Dublin and he is from South Africa he met up with Steve here in Ireland for some lessons and he is getting great distances now.

I've went to Steve Gillet twice and would recommend him. Hes a Sea angler casting instructor so you can get his contact details from them or I'm sure landers in Tralee or the shop in Blarney would have his number. Contact him about charges but its very small and he gives a 2 to 3 hour lesson.

I would be interested in some lessons. I'm based in Waterford but would travel if required. There were a couple of casting instructors at the last angling show in Dublin that were very good. Ant offers or info on these guys.

yes, andrew gormley and john henry and myself were the guys at the show and we are in the process of getting a casting club up and running as soon as we secure a venue, but i do give some private lessons.
Coaster--if your down by John O briens shop in waterford he might be able to help or put you in touch with a local instructor.
With regards to using the Phionix Park it virtualy impossible to get any answers from the dublin corp, and some of us have been run off it before.

Is Sandymount not an option anymore Paddy?

Tue Nov 14, 2006 12:47 pm

Hi Paddy,

can I contact you via PM?

Wed Nov 15, 2006 11:48 am

of corse Kstaff pm away, robert yes sandymount is still an option but a last option, as the sand and salt water are a real killer on the tourny reels, they are expensive enough to buy and then converting them costs more depending on what reel,, we are in talks with a guy who has 2 big fields
