Magged Sl20sh

I'm just wondering if anyone has bought one of the conversion kits for the sl2osh?

http://digitaldagger.com/reels/daiwa/daiwa.html

It's down the page there a bit and they cost $65, was wondering if it's worth doing, anyone got any feedback on magged sloshes?

this reel doesnt have an alloy or metal spool so no magnetic field can be generated. the shimano speedmaster has an alloy spool and would be my choice of similar size reel to mag . you can pick up cheap ones on ebay and can do a nice single mag unit on it,

Well that's the thing, Daiwa produce a kit that does mag it properly.

Theres an aluminum disc come with the kit.The disc must be glued to the side of the spool so that the assembly can works.

If you have to glue an aluminum disc to the spool then I would not bother from a casting point of view as the spool ballance will be comprimised and you now have additional weight that might be difficul to control during the cast. If this modification were for fishing, then it might be worth the trouble. If you have an SL X reel with the aluminum spool, then your good to go.

since the kit come with clicker,i assume that it more towards the used on the beach rather than casting court.

I would guess so Joe,

I think Eoin was hoping to use it on the casting court as well though.

if its for casting forget the daiwa slosh use it for fishing and for casting pick up a cheap abu 6500 or mag for casting the slosh conversion probably costs the same as a second hand mag any way. yes the glueing of a metal disc to the spool will throw out the balance and it will be very noisy . why make a bad casting reel when you can buy a good one.

I have a mag elite for casting, but I was just thinking of taming the slosh a bit.
Thanks for input all.
