Beginers tips - Get advice/lessons from someone who ACTUALLY KNOWS what they are talking about then its simple from there - Practice, practice, practice and then practice some more. Casting clubs are usually the best way to find someone who can start you off in the right direction as opposed to that guy on the beach that thinks hes fishing his baits at 160/70yrds plus and recons he knows it all

Alex placed a video and question for advice on the UCC forums recently. He only got one reply, the only one he will ever need and from a proper instructor as the rest of the guys in the club know better than to waste his time giving him advice that might not be 100% even though they can all competently cast over 200yrds now (some of them alot further). There is alot of good advice/tips there for anyone else interested in trying to pendulum cast, worth a read.
