I own Century and Daiwa rods, but have to say Zipplex would be No.1 due to the fact that every one is special in its own way. I feel a spending spree coming on  :D

Tell me about it!

In the last few months I have bought a Daiwa TNXS134m, a Century CCC and now my mind is on a Zippy!

I have tried XTR 50/50, Profile, T-Zero, Zero plus, LT Bullet and Primo Synchro XL - problem is I want one of each now :? Or should I just bite the bullet and go for an M4 8)

The profile do look the job, my only worry is can it handle a 6oz in a raging surf? i dont know the specs but it just seems very thin?!? same as the bass rod i ordered?!? ...i was lookin at the xtr groundcaster or the 50/50...but from what i hear Zzippys are a personal thing and have personalities of there own, if u get on great :) ...if not sell it :( !!

Sat Mar 10, 2007 11:04 pm

That sounds about right, some of the rods I tried I struggled to get along with, but the ones that clicked 8) :D

I cast the Profile with 100g on it and could feel it bending rightly so am not too sure how it would cope with 6oz and a powerful cast. I read in one of the Zippy dealerships that the Profile had an optimum casting weight of 125g.

Have you had a look at the Primo Synchro's??

yeah i hear good things but its hard to get a site or shop that deals with zzippys down here...ive got summerlands site but i hear its dodgy(i dunno if thats true tho) but the primo looks like a weapon and a half man..nice price 2

Summerlands are fine in my experience. Have a look at the Lt 14 for what your looking for Mr Green

I'll have to say Greys purely on value for money.I just don't seem to have the funds to keep up with the rest of you tarts.

Have you had a play with an Zziplex M4 yet Paddy?? Or heard anything about them? I saw one at the Birmingham show last year but didn't pay enough attention to it :(

Steve morris cast with one when we cast at the EWM 100g event this year, its very, very slim but enough power to launch 150g  i think TC said it his most powerfull rod for the weight that hes ever made,, everything ive heard has all been positive, has sean not got one,,,?

Mon Mar 12, 2007 9:25 am

dont century hold the records for the 150,175g ...i read that somewhere...300+yards

Mon Mar 12, 2007 10:40 am

Well, Danny Moeskops holds the records, he just happens to use century rods for some reason,,, .
100gm/0.28mm 261.52m(286 yards)
125gm/0.28mm 270.64m(303yards)
150gm/0.31mm 278.96m(305yards)
175gm/0.35mm 276.58m(302yards)

Cheers for the reply Paddy.

No, Sean does not have one. Not yet anyway - think he is more interested in a ZTI. Seems to think an M4 would suit me though. Might just have to give T.C. a buzz :D
