Well after we met up with our army contacts down on the curragh last sunday morning it looks like they are more than happy to let us use the exact site we were after, and when i say its MASSIVE i mean REALLY MASSIVE!! This is the best casting venue in the country IMO.
So now all thats left is to collect the membership fees and keith (Kstaff) has kindly agreed to be on the committee and is going to set up a pay-pal account so payments can be promptly made in order to get the ins cert asap so we all can get started, so here is the break down:

IFSA FEES:
Affiliation and ins for the whole club = E250 E8.50 per head
Plus E20 per head= E28.50

As we need to buy the meterials for the club court
(ie- steel wire (zero strech) for centre/side lines, flags, oche, etc)
there is a fee of E11.50 per head bringing the total up to E40 a head
which is still nothing really.

I think he called it bluelands..!! its opposite the race course on the other side of the main road, just off the main road into the army camp.

Surprised that you have been given that area as I know it is popular with walkers, runners etc.

lot of work by paddy to get this far army were very keen for us to make use of the ground. they had to submit details and maps of the area we wanted . we will get a permit to use the venue and its up to each member to do there bit to make sure safety is adheered to at all times . our court will be visable to all , we dont want to loose this to stupidity . its a very valuable asset to any casting club . well done paddy.

Great work Paddy...... Cracking field. My membership fee will be with Keith tonight. I'm looking forward to the first meet already. Starting to hit a few fishing Pendulums..... Still feels a bit wierd, so I'm looking forward to a few pointers.

Talk to you later,

Kev

Hate to rain on the parade lads but during the summer every man and his dog is out there, picnics, runners and people hitting golf balls.
Just so you know.

as far as im aware the army are going to cordon off our area for the dates we proposed,, so should be no probs unless your cracking off out the back of the court at 250metres +

Apologies for the delay on this ,I thought I had put this up last Thursday, forgot to hit Submit, Doh!

Anyway all's good to go on PAYPAL, please make payment to SPORTSCASTIRELAND@HOTMAIL.COM

If anyone using this method can please make sure to put in your full name etc so we can keep track of who's paid etc, cheers.

We are ( money permitting) hoping to get a meet orgainsed towards the end of the Month /early May so the sooner we get the cash in for the court etc the better. So as Jerry McGuire said " SHOW ME THE MONEY"

If PAYPAL IS NOT SUITABLE FOR EVERYONE PLEASE DROP ME A PM AND WE CAN ARRANGE ANOTHER COLLECTION METHOD!

Many thanks!!!

Just a note, make sure you take down a few bin bags for rubbish. A sure way to screw it up for next time is to leave rubbish for others to collect. Even if it's not yours, please take it away.

For those casting, make sure you take down spare spools of line - .28 for 125g and .31 for 150g. If you use .31 for the 125g, you will lose about 10 to 15 meters!

Wish I could join you!!
