Species Hunt Greystones Sat August 15th

The aim of this competition is to catch as many species as possible In a 24 hour period. You can fish anywhere you want for the 24 hours at your own leisure, once it's from the shore. All species must be marine species and must be photographed with a card which everyone will be given on the day. Entry fee is €10 with all entry fees going out as prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd sponsored by Southside angling . It's just a bit of craic so hopefully we get anglers of all ages and levels of experience. Check in will be at 1pm on Saturday 15th of August at Greystones Pier and everyone will meet back there at 2pm the next day for results. Feel free to invite as many friends as you like, no club affiliation necessary.

Sorry Craig only seen your post now. It was a rover competition so you were free to fish anywhere you like within the 24 hours.

Just finished up the24 hour species hunt. Was a great success. Thanks to everyone who took part and to Dave in Southside for the sponsorship. Everyone had a great time and collectively we caught 34 species including a specimen hound for Liam Markey and a specimen hound and 3 beard rockling for Andy Boyce. There was also a surprise red mullet caught yesterday by lar mooney. Well done to Boycie on taking 1st prize he deserved it after sticking out the full 24 hours and to John Hughes and Michael O Reilly who took joint 2nd. It was neck in neck stuff, the picture below in Boycie going 1 ahead of john in the last 10 minutes of the comp. Can't wait for next year it should be bigger and better.

sorry Craig it was as many different species as you could catch. it was won with 21 species.
