Hi lads.
That time of year again. Leg 1 of the Blackrock Tackle West Coast Shore League is on this Saturday the 1st March. Venue is Stoney Beach at Renvyle (if there is anything left of it after the storms). Check in is at the shop car park in Letterfrack from 3pm. Fishing is from 5-9pm. Entry into the league is €35 and entry into the competition on the day is €15.

If you are going to fish this please get in touch asap as i will need a head count before hand to ensure there will be room on the venue. In the case that we have to use a 2nd venue for zone b, we will try our best to use a similar mixed ground venue like Renvyle. Back up venues will be Lettergesh and Renvyle beach on a dropping tide.

mike varley was 1st in zone b, sean ivory was 2nd and tim o sullivan was 3rd.

jp won zone a, chris o sullivan was 2nd and tony chambers was 3rd.

Congratulations to Zoltan Kiszely of Mullaghmore SAC on winning the Climb 8, Connacht Open Shore, Gold Medal.
He has now won the first two legs of the BlackRock tackle West Coast Shore League. Great form.
Joe Chambers of Newport SAC won the Juniors.

Leg 3 of the Blackrock shore league is on Sunday the 15th June.

Venue is Keel Strand and fishing will be from 12pm- 4pm.

Host club is Corrane SAC and check in will at the venue from 10:30am.

Congratulations goes once again to Zoltan Kizsely continuing his fine form by taking the third Leg of the Blackrock shore league on Sunday the 15th June at Keel. its three in a row now for him - catching 22 fish on the day - more to follow.

Better late than never!

Leg 4 of the Blackrock Tackle shore league is on the 22nd June.

Venue is Ballyrean and fishing will be from 11am to 5pm (6 hour competition).
Host club is Galway Bay SAC and check in will be from 10am at the venue.
This is going to be a rambler competition with the biggest of each species making up your final score.
The rules are: one rod allowed at any one time, no more than 3 hooks at any one time and ALL fish count.

RESULT

Well done to Shane Gilvarry of Newport SAC who won the Galway Bay Sea Angling Club s species hunt comp in Ballyrean, Sunday. This was also Leg 4 of the BlackRock West Coast Shore League.

He had six species, Shane Rochford, Mullaghmore SAC was 2nd with 5 species and Zoltan Kizsely, also Mullaghmore was 3rd with 5 species.

14 species were caught with dogs ray huss and mackeral notable exceptions. Ballan, corkwing, goldshinny, conger, pollack, pouting, poor cod, blenny, coalie, whiting, weaver, launce, dab and sea scorpians were caught. Zoltan leads the shore league with 3 wins and a third, after 4 legs.

Meeting at 10:30am on Rosmoney pier.

Fishing will be from 12-5pm, entry is €30.

Lads due to the need to order boats this is a pre entry competition.

Also leg 6 of the league that was due to be fished on the 31st of August will now be fished on Saturday the 30th August.

Fishing will be from 4pm-8pm and check in is at the venue at 3pm.

Last leg of the league is on Saturday the 11th October on White Strand.

Host Club is Galway Bay SAC, check in is White Strand car park at 10am, fishing will be from 11:30-3:30.

This will be a fundraiser for the Connaught under age teams, entry is €15 for adults and €10 for juniors.
