The Connaught web site is here http://www.connaughtseaanglers.com/

Contact the Secretary of the club you would like to join. Membership is a yearly fee and the 2011 membership fee would be coming to a close soon. You might be better off holding off for a month or so but if you contact a club secretary they might be able to help you out with more details

if mike wants to join a club and fish the competition on saturday he will have to join one of the currently affiliated clubs in galway, Cois Fharraige or Galway Bay or another affiliated club for that matter

the group you mention noel are not affiliated as far as i know

Just to clarify for 2012 there are only 2 clubs affiliated to the IFSA after last nights Provincial AGM Galway Buccaneers SAC were ratified by the Connacht Council...

Sadly due to a decline in inter club activity along with spiralling affiliation costs and a drop off in club competition activity due to a congested fixture list. Cois Fharraige / Carna SAC for so long the flag bearers for shore angling in Connacht are not affiliating for 2012. it's a shame to see a club that all in Connacht are indebted too not in a position to affiliate and I would like to personally thank Fergus Collins for all he has done over the years for angling in Connacht.

So if your looking for a club to join for the remainder of 2011 corbyeire is right in saying there are only 2 to choose from...

However if your looking for a club going forward for 2012 it's worth checking out both Galway Buccaneers SAC and Galway Bay SAC and see which club best suits your needs.

Have Cois Fharraige / Carna SAC closed entirely, or will they carry on without being affiliated to the IFSA?

I spoke with Fergus Collins the other day and as it stands the club is no more after this year... Sad to see it go but that's the reality of current affiliation costs only clubs with large memberships or bank balances seem likely to survive!!
