Really hoping to make this!! The craic was brilliant last year in the Helm afterwards!! Lets just say i can't remember going to bed!! The wifes pregnant and its a bit close to her due date but i am working on it!! Have already put the feelers out and its looking good!!

just to add, this competition is also leg 3 of the grauvell west coast shore league.also the helm have put up 100 euro for both the longest ray and longest bullhuss so bring your animal gear with you. the comp will be fished in 3 zones of 20 and with the amount of interest shown already i'd be getting your name in fast.

hi all, i regret to inform you all that we have to make a change of venue for the connaught open shore gold medal and leg 3 of the west coast shore league. we could not secure access to 3 of the 4 venues we intended to use. the new venue will be white strand co mayo, fishing time is from 11:30-16:30 and check in will be at the venue from 9:30-10:30. this is a pre-entry competition. regards pete a.

Where About in Mayo is White Strand? and what are the likely species to be caught?

hi john this beach is about 10km south west of louisburgh in mayo, a few km from the village of kileen

a wide range of species can be caught on this beach, dogs, ray, flounder, turbot, bass to mention a few

We will do. I have a sister living in Moycullen so we will come up the night before in order to split the journey.

I remember that night alright, I was going fine until it got dark and them Richie Gormley trounced me in darkness.
