Rosslare Small Boat Festival 2011

Wed Nov 10, 2010 11:26 am

The Rosslare Small Boat Festival has been in existence for 25 years and takes place every September in Rosslare, Co. Wexford. It is a bring your own boat, open to any trailable boat from 15 feet upwards with minimum safety equipment on board, and a minimum of 2 anglers. It is an open competition, yet for some reason we have very few Irish anglers taking part. The prize fund for the 2010 festival was in the region of 17000 euro, but is healthily spread around. Prizes were awarded down to 21st out of a field of 42 boats.
Competitors hold 2 Irish records at the moment, (Smoothound and Red Mullet) and many Irish specimen fish have been caught during the week.
Accommodation is arranged through the Festival, as are the launch fees etc.
The 2011 Festival is to take place from Saturday 10th to Saturday 17th September. Full details and further information can be found on the Festival web site - www.rosslaresmallboatsfestival.co.uk.
So come on you Irish anglers, what are you waiting for ??????
