Yes! the fish were slow to start with the expected dog fish glut not materializing however there were some notable catches and the old stalwart Pader Taite from the ballbrack club on the lower pegs mesmerized us all with his creditable bag of 19 fish of dogs and dabs to win the competition. other notable catches were a nice bass of 66cm caught by another senior angler Liam Ahern (this one didn't get away) and was duly released unharmed, "the auld lads were having a field day". There were also some small smoothies caught but nothing of note.

There was a huge lack of interest in this competition for some reason ( maybe all the lads with their frilly knickers were watching the euro-vision) which was well run and is a great shame because these competition are the backbone of the federation and because of lack of interest they will be phased out, I think it's important to support clubs who make the effort and its kinda like having a birthday party and no one turning up.

1st Pader Taite 19 fish

2nd Eamonn Bermingham 16 fish

3rd Ritchie Gormanly 12 fish

4th Martin Howlin 15 fish

5th Paul Mason 9 fish
