i have a 15 ft with a 35 hp in mayo . i borrow a boat in galway saves the hassle of moving and launching.
i haven't looked for a club

I'm based in Limerick but my parents spend most of their time in Kinvara so I would be very interested in joining a club too.
Last summer I only launched in Kilkee, Kllbaha and Tarbert and I am seriouly keen on fishing Galway Bay. I work shift and work 2, rarely 3 weekends out of 5. I have a Bonwitco 400C so could take 1-2 extra
Please let me know about any marks, plans or outings anybody is organising
thanks
Cormac

Sounds good, have mine fishing out of Barna. Club sounds a good idea, if nothing else to share some info on the bay.

hi lads,
Galway Bay Sea Angling Club covers both shore and boat competitions,
just that in the last two years members have been more focussed on the shore competitions,
we are looking to get more boat anglers interested in the club (the more the merrier)
and because it is an active club there is no setting up to do, all that is needed is for someone to come forward, join the club and join the committee and become responsible for boat competitions etc..
the website address is in my signature below

all the events on the website are very far away from Galway Bay, are there any outings planed for Galway bay itself?

Hi Dave,
that sounds good, we could meet out in the bay cos they are straight across from each other

glad to see there is some interest ,maybe we could meet a few times when the weather is good, if we can all take note of people with boats we could p/m or message each other if any one is going out , any others welcome

sounds good, all the meeting of the club seem to be in Mayo which is way to far to pull a trailer.
my number is 086 8477727 if anybody is going out. my boat wont be ready for at least a month though

I've moved this in here, it seems to be a better fit.
Good luck with the boating.

thats just the shore comps, there are no boat comps scheduled for this year..
the reason the shore comps are held further away is that there are very few beaches that will hold 20+ anglers within the bay area.
there are however club outings every month which are held at various venues from Ballyreen to Westport, contact the secretary of the club Conor (aka Saltydog on the site ) for more details..
