starting a shore angling club

whats the story with startin a new club or re starting an old club...
insurance?
how are fish recorded nowadays?

I would reccomend reserecting a club in your area that was once one of the best in the country. The one on the east side of the bridge
I dont think there would be much problem getting members.

going off the subject abit but whatever happend to the old club

things just petered out i think.i thought it was said that it had something to do with insurance at the time..correct me if i am wrong.
the ramblers used to be excellent .they used return to the pond for the weigh in.there used be some fish that would not survive ,and, i can see how this is a bit of a problem with modern competition.do clubs still hold ramblers and how is the weigh in sorted nowadays.
some excellent anglers went through that club.there is enough people in the town fishing now to easily sustain a club.

I will join/help and ~I know the lads would be interested too.

Affiliation Fees: €255 + €50 for every senior member and €5 for under 16's
Abbyside would be looked on as a dormant club and would only need 8 members to re-affiliate.

So 12 members @ €60 a go (€720) would work out like this.
IFSA affiliation €255
12 members @ €30 €360

This will leave you with € 105 in the kitty

what about insurance etc.
maybe a new club with all new faces and opinions may be the job.then theres no baggage or overpowering characters .heard said of clubs in the past that people don t join because of the people involved .like what happened with the trout club on the colligan.that was a real pity.
i would love to start a club in the locality.with the right people involved it could be a huge success.
my final question is in relation to rambler comps . how would the weigh in work..
regardless of ramblers, look at all the fantastic marks that can be used . clonea,ballinacourty,ballyvoile,ballyvooney,ring,ballyquin , ,ardmore,whiting bay,ferrypoint etc,
not to mention the inner bay marks in dungarvan, white strand, abbeyside ,cunniger,the quay,the river,quans ,western bay etc.

Ramblers are pretty much a thing of the past. which is a good thing.

Weigh ins are also a thing of the past which is a great thing.

Its all catch, measure and release now.

Standard is 20cm size limit with some comps also giving five points for undersize fish.

is there anyway of holding a rambler.they were great because they gave the average angler a better chance of competing...i dont mind not being in the prize money but i would think it would put fellas off if they ate all pegged comps and the top anglers would clean up every time. maybe i am wrong ,just an idea on keeping it more open for the average guy.

The day's of drive off on a Sunday morning at 200mph to you hot spot are dead and buried.
Where is the problem with having a rambler on Clonnea, the cunnigar and white bay.

ramblers are being brought back from the grave dont think there is any problem with a club hosting a rambler comp the only thing with ramblers is the results dont count towards master angler think they have to be from staked comps only open to correction on that. once fish sizes go up edibles only people should have no complaints good luck with club
