well all today was the day and the weather was poor enough but best of the last few days.
with a small turn out of 7 boats with 16 anglers.after a lot of set backs all we could do was go ahead with it.surprized a lot more local boats didnt enter when people traveled from as far away as co louth.
it was tough going getting out with one retiree for wet and wild who sprung a leek and had to head for home early.ended up coming early myself after 40 min fishing with two sick crew .the rest of the lads battled it out with a good few runs and 4 hook ups. one was lost at side of boat by screeming reels he also landed another.andy elliot had a great day with his first two blues(ever) and the first one been near 150lb which won him the competition, angus has some nice pics of the fish.with only two people landing fish 3rd place was drawn out of the hat with gerry walsh on board shockwaves taken 3rd,eddie might of got a few fish only for the linden village .
would of fished better if we had a few miles an hour less wind as there is plenty of big sharks around.maybe better weather next year .
i would like to thank martyn rayner and angus richie for helping the committe of rinnnashark organise the competition.
RESULTS:1st andy elliot 2 fish
2nd martyn rayner 1 fish
3rd gerry walsh LUCK
