Here's the report off our website on the Table quiz. For other clubs that have not tried this method of fundraising can't recomment it highly enough. It was a very enjoyable social event and the bottom line wasn't too bad I'd imagine. Genuinely lookin forward to the next one like

Table Quiz "a triumph"

The table quiz held at Kerins O'Rahilly's on 12 March was considerd by all who attended to be a "roaring success". There was a terrific turnout with every seat taken - extra tables having to be employed in an ajoining area of the venue.

The Quizmaster - Tom Brosnan - was on the best of form and unquestionably achieved his principal aim of providing a fun night for all involved. His questions had us all scratching our heads at times with our knowledge of Irish history, geography, sport and local events being tested to the limit. His 'dingbats' round was particularly challenging - but great fun.

The welcome and hopitality provided by the management and staff at Kerins O'Rahilly's was as friendly and cordial as ever. The supper provided at the interval was very welcome - many thanks to all involved.

Our many generous sponsors contributed a range of magnificent door and spot prizes - as always we are extremely grateful for their continued support in assisting the angling club to achieve its goals. We would especially like to thank the following for their generousity:

The Meadowlands Hotel, Total Cleaning Supplies, Kerins O'Rahilly's, Nailz & Beauty - Boherbee and Carry-Out off licence Oakpark.

The quiz was eventually won by Christy Lynch and his team of interllectuals - following a tense playoff. The door prize of a top-of-the-range vacuum cleaner donated by Total Cleaning Supplies was won by former Club Chairman and all-round good egg - Jack Lacey.

There can be no question that social events such as this will become a regular fixture in the club's social calendar in the future. Thanks once again to all involved - and a special thank you to Jimmy O'Sullivan for his enthusiasm and time - your organisation of the event was extremely impressive - well done.
