Thanks lads,
Finished with silver, u 21's also silver, u 16's 4th i think.
had a great first day, the second day was very tough for us, the calm weather and other things caught us out.
overall happy enough with the result as there are some brilliant anglers on the teams, well done to England.

This was a __ disgrace, the Under 16s and Under 21s had no water in front of them for the last TWO hours of the match. How we were supposed to catch fish i have no idea. Its a damn hollow silver, thats for sure. Something like this should never be allowed to happen in what is one of the biggest competitions that ireland hosts, and even then it only comes around once every four years!

Someone should at least take responsibility for it, the excuse given was "these things happen", and i'm sorry but they just don't. You don't hold a competition on a venue where the water ends up being out of casting range across mud flats that would have been dangerous for people to walk out on, especially some of the younger lads.

Please don't say that's actually true

Why do we continually let ourselves down on such small easy to get right things that make us look like idiots.

It has to stop!

Massive weldone to the teams either way brilliant result.

how cold some one running any competition pick to fish a beach on total wrong tide NO WATER the likes of this at club level would be a joke never mind home nations.when you hear storys of some of the under 16 crying cos of it,thats just not on.all these mistakes are people running the competitions not learning anything they are been run long enough.
there needs to be some done to help stop any more of these mistakes in the future, maybe a sub commitee set up to orgnise major competitions?

This is so wrong on so many levels.
How can such an obvious issue have been overlooked?
Why do we constantly have problems here in Ireland with venue selection?

I really like Barry Murphys idea of a Shore Angling Match Sub Committee in charge of major competitions.
I would suggest this covers-
All International shore angling events
The Masters
The fish Offs
The All Ireland Jimmy Smith.

The sub committee would be there as an advisor to the host club and determine if a venue is ultimatly suitable for the competition in question.

I was at the Munster competition and the lack of fish was not down to the lads on the ground but being put in a position of having to fish on the south coast without crab in the summer and in the daytime.
The competition was based in youghal but the only baits provide were rag and mac.Are these the correct baits for and estuary? I think not.
