Hello all,

The seventh and final leg of the West Coast shore league took place on Saturday the 20th of November on Bertra beach near Westport, Co. Mayo. Originally Cross beach had been selected but weed on the day made the beach unfishable.

Chris Feeney won the competition on the day with flounder and dogs. He consequently took the shore league. What a season it has been for him with the an under 21 Home Nations gold and Connaught Open gold already under his belt. He won the competition by only one position difference over the course of the league compared to Peter Atkins who was in second.

3rd Declan gallagher
4th Yanto Jones
5th Brian Reidy

Chris' younger brother Kaylem was not to be outdone and had a flawless 100% score in the Junior west coast league.

2nd Leo McKenna
3rd Nathan Collins

The pairs was won by Peter Atkins and Conor Mountaine again by only one position difference over the course of the league!

2nd Brian Reidy and Kevin Crowley
3rd Michael Curtin junior and Shane Gilvarry

Please see the table attached for the full results.

Pat Walsh, the new IFSA President was at the Helm to hand out the prizes. Also in attendance were David Dinsmore of Irish Angler magazine and John OConnor from the Irish Anglers Digest. A huge thank you must go out to our sponsors of the league:

Doug, A shore Thing
eFishsell
The Helm
Kevin MacGabhann, Galway Bay Fishing
Irish Angler
Irish Anglers Digest

First place was a rod worth €1600 kindly sponsored by A Shore Thing - the overall prizefund was €3500

Thanks also goes to the clubs which took a leg of the league and to the Connaught Councils shore angling promotion officer Peter Atkins for his tireless work.

Next years League is almost ready with 7 different clubs taking a leg and the Connaught Councils Shore Committee organising the 8th leg (The Connaught Open)

Hope to see you all there!
