hi folks ive been fishing quiet a while in kinsale in a quicksilver and am anxious to try for blue shark

my greatest concern is landing the shark without hurting the fish etc
looking at jim Cs excellent recent video a Gaf is used is this necessary as it seems cruel or will the shark recover in a few days ?

Thanks Kevin!
I don't use a gaf .... Ever!
Landing a shark on a small boat is not to be taken lightly. It is not easy on the anglers nor the shark. A tailer might help. Nothing helps more than good agressive lifters. Just be careful and if the shark is big then leave it off at the side...it's safer. Big sharks do not picture well in any case.
A sling would be grand although I can see difficulty getting it around the shark at the side of the boat.
