Anchor and chain are fine , you'll need more rope , well it depends on the depth of water you'll be anchoring , the general rule of thumb is three times the depth.

You'll be OK in shallow areas around Howth and other such sheltered marks. You won't be too long loosing that anchor if you anchor on Rock. Folding anchors can be very hard to retrieve if they are stuck If you make it down to Wicklow or Wexford there can be a heavy push of tide in these areas and you will need at least 150 feet or rope and a 5kg Bruce style Anchor to give yourself more grip. If you rig this anchor to trip, you can also anchor rocky areas and give yourself a better chance of getting your anchor back.
If you like PM me your number and I can show you the basics.

I would ditch the folding grapnel and keep it as a spare/backup. It will do fine on rock but will not be worth awank on sand. Use a Bruce or plough as your all round anchor. Rigged to trip out if stuck and retrieved with a buoy if the water is deep....perfect.
