Boat Fishing Waterford

Wed Apr 24, 2013 10:12 am

Hi all,

i recently got a little boat for myself and the little lad. i would like to bring him out and hopefully catch some fish with him. i have a little experience from the shore, but am clueless as to where to fish in a boat in Co Waterford. Im not after monster fish or any super secret spot but if anyone could pm me with a spot or two that might get him a couple of fish (dont care what type) i would appreciate it.

thanks lads.

get down to Dungarvan if possible, there are plenty of spots like Helvic pier or the pier at the Golf Club where you can launch. You should certainly be lucky in the Cunningar.

Hi,you can launch from the boat cove in tramore, and fish tramore bay to start,it's sheltered and safe, make sure you carry a VHF radio and wear life jackets until you get used to the boat fishing,a lot of different species can be got in the bay and outside,we have had most species there, keep to the right hand side of pier going out and left coming in,what part of Waterford are you from, hope this helps...,eddie....
