James Nesbitt's Ireland.

Tue Apr 23, 2013 12:29 pm

Hi. Can anyone tell me where the slipway was where James was attempting (unsuccesfully) spearfishing. It looks like a good place to launch. I am coming to Dingle for a couple of weeks in September, any help would be much appreciated.

Bah! I cannot see that on ITV player (geographically blocked)

Anyway....I have launched at Annuacaul on the way out the Dingle peninsula. Grand if you are heading up to Inch for tope, rays etc...
Other than that I have launched in Dingle itself...great facilities there. I have launched on the far side of the bay as well in Coonanna.
SeanP on this site used beach launch on the spit opposite Inch...
Something tells me his famous boat launching clip was made there :)

Hi Jim. Thanks, some great info there.... Coonanna looks good. Regarding SeanP's launch, is that Cromane, near Killorglin. By the way, the slip i was trying to identify is at Cuan, opposite Ventry pier, i have actually been there but about 5 or 6 years ago and it did'nt look like that from what i can remember.

I thought it was Cuan pier too while watching the show. I have been down there some years ago and would recommend checking it out before towing a boat down as I think the access road is v. narrow with little room for turning and parking. The slip in Dingle is excellent as Jim.C says.

@ JOHN 1, I saw a guy spearfishing for bass (in an earlier episode) which I think he later served up as topping on pizza which he sold from a big blue van; commercial bass fishing?

i thought the same thing myself john :?

as for the slip, i thought it was the one at the point at ventry when you drive past the wee caravan park right up at the end of the point. like john said, very narrow lane down to it and when we were there at halloween there was the hull of a boat beside the slip that looked like it was being worked on. i just about had enough room to turn the car there, so not sure about launching from there man.
