You cant buy chum , but its simple to make, some oily fish mackeral, herring or even sardines, bran or porridge oats mix the lot up and thats it as for fish oil any farm supply sell cod liver oil for anound 20 euro a gallon and most tackle shops sell pilchard oil around 7 euro a litre mix both with your bran and fish to make the chum.

Old used oil from your deep fat fryer mixed with chopped up mackerel works a treat.Soak it in news paper mix it in and it works a treat!
The news paper breaks up in the water and releases the oil through the depths!
Cheap and cheerful!

Chum dog food might be worth a shot, you can get it in fish flavour, and cereal is a main ingredient....

Thanks for the reply lads. I usually do make my own chum but when the mackerel are scarce it would be great to buy a few frozen blocks. I had some notion that there was a company in Donegal supplying it.

I will have to make up a load of it if we get a decent summer this year and put it in the freezer.
