Does anybody know if Cork Hoarbour is fishing at the moment? I was thinking of giving it a go next week as the fishing here is crap at the moment maybe its all this east wind, does it have the same effect on fishing in Cork harbour as well, just wondering if its worth my while?
Thanks
Kieran.

Hi kieran
Here's a link to Pat's report that might let you know what to expect,

Wind seems to be changing to NW all next week some of it is strong so check it out before you load up.

The fishing is poor enough at present, though we haven't been getting out much with the crap weather. There is a distinct lack of cod in the harbour. As the report above highlights there are plenty of small fish around to be caught with bait. Your best bet will be offshore marks. All that said...a bit of settled weather and you'd never know how things pan out.

I’d take these results with a pinch of salt.
These “light lines” competitions are fished with a minimum fish size of
18cm

and are no indicator of the fishing in Cork harbour.

I was down 2 weeks ago with Tony, had some good sized whiting around the mouth of harbour, but had to travel a lot further out to find pollock, coalie and ling. we didnt land a single cod

I things settle down you might find a few cod may show up (We live in hope!)..you always have the chance of small pollack/coalies around the mouth of the harbour.
There are rays being caught so well worth a go for them.
