Hi all ,
As you may know from earlier posts , I'm from Germany and living part of the year in Burtonport. I meanwhile know this area quite well .
Next year I would like to do some trips with the boat near Horn Head. Can anyone recommend a slipway in that area ?
Nice places to sail to ?
The other issue is , is it difficult to sail there ( rocks , banks ) ore would i need a chart and if so which one ?
Any good spot to fish there as well?
Thanks in advance for your hints
Cheers Werner

Portnablagh is the place to go, or Downings if you want a longer drag from Burtonport.
The west of Sheephaven around Horn Head is rock free. Good fishing just inside the Horn in Skate Bay for rays and flatties, and just off the Horn for pollock. The east of Sheephaven from Downings around to Melmere is trickier. You've got Black Rock, the Frenchman and assorted other breaking rocks. Can be good for haddock, if you can find the Haddock Hole.
Give me a shout when you're going to be there and I'll meet you at Portnablagh and point out a few other interesting marks.
