I am soon planning a trip to connemara mile rock. I heard from a local fisherman with a good place to fish for cod. Has anyone had fished there. Thanks

Spent a couple of hours there two years ago. Pollack, pollack and more pollack and a ling or two.
Can be dangerous place in lumpy seas.

As Peter said lots of Pollack and very lumpy. A fair few years ago though a group of English anglers took over a dingy and fished the mile rock for a week. They had over 15 species including some Cod and very nice whiting. They also landed a Skate close to 200lb from a patch of sand close to the rock while at anchor. 99% of the angling there has always been on the drift so a calm day on anchor could bring some surprises.
