Fishing the Imogene bouy...

Hi there guys, thinking of heading for Mack's and pollock at the Imogene marks in greenore, would the slip at greenore be my spot to put in, or could I also launch at gyles quay.
Thanks in advance guys.....

Gilses quay slipway is closer to the Imogene buoy but is very tidal. The water leaves the slip about 2 hours after HW on an average tide. When the tide leaves the slip you can launch off the stoney sea bed using a 4X4, but its hastle. Also if the wind freshens up from a southerly right round to a westerly direction it can get sloppy at the slip and make boat retrieval more difficult.
For these reasons I almost always use Greenore Slipway despite the longer steam around to the marks in Dundalk Bay. The Slip is ok 4hours either side of HW and useable all through the tide if you have a 4x4.

Thanks a lot for this fish magnet, will give it a spin at the weekend, weather permitting and if nothing else come up between now and then, thanks again
