Lol@ twinkle. You possibly might need to try a few different spots than your normal ones. Do you use a fishfinder? Do you always fish on the drift or anchor up?

we have a fish finder but have yet to catch fish useing it  the screen can be covered in fish and still no takes  we decide were to go with weather and wind.sometimes we have to fish just between the island and the harbour.waiting for conditions to improve drifting mostly .then out to the back of irelands eye a few drifts with baited sabikis in close will usually give us a few pollock [davebouy had some ling there last summer]if at all possible i head for the nose and drift off towards the bailey have had gurnard, pollock, codling ,whiting, dabs ,dogfish, huss and macks of course. even caught a pilchard there last season the only time we use the anchor is on the banks ray, gurnard, flats tope and huss plenty of large dogs, but you need to start at low tide.as i say its a wide variety species the biggest codling we had is about 2 lb but we had gurnard to 4lb and ray to 18lb so i cant fault howth except for the seals
