Sat Feb 11, 2012 8:20 pm

Heya folks trying to get together a few rigs everything has to be 15lb or under.I never gave it to much though shore fishing crimping 40lb rig body,s but this seems like a art in itself!

is there any particular line which one would reccomend 15lb for the rig body,i can forsee a few broken traces if i dont get this right cheers.also with putting on the crimps is there a correct way to do this that would cause as little damage to the line as possible!

cheers

I use Silicon Tubing or Clear Powergum for light line rigs instead of crimps. You can stick 3 or more on it to allow for a sturdier hold if needed. The beauty is the versatility because you can adjust the length of the rig body to suit changing conditions during fishing.
2 Way Clear Beads instead of swivels for your snoods make your rigs even lighter.

Hi ferg,

I've become a big fan of amnesia for both the rig body and snoods . Easy to knot in the higher breaking strains and kinks just pull out and the lighter strain is less prone to tangles as its stiffer than a similar strain mono.

Is this for the light lines comp in cork harbour at the weekend?
because if it is, only your mainline needs to be 15lb your rigs can be whatever you like.
