Right lads I have to order stuff to make up traces for the approaching blue shark season
I'm thinking of getting 49 strand stainless wire (175lb)is this ok
Also what type of hooks should I get...

The stuff your talking about is very thin almost the same diameter as 100lb wire therefore id go to the next breaking strain up as many shark anglers use up to 400lb breaking strain for shark fishing, remember the 49 strand is thinner so you can go heavier with it. Cox & Rawle meat hooks in a size 10/0 will do the job there are other brands such as Mustad which make good shark hooks. Make sure to get yourself good quality swivels in the largest size you can and crimp everything together with double crimps.

If you can pick up some spanish longline gear ie heavy mono, it works a treat as a cheap alternative.Never failed for me yet!
