burtonport and rathmullen boat angling advice

hey lads going up fishing with 30plus anglers in the end of june to these ports for some boat fishing, i have never fished up this part of donegal,

just wanna give the lads the heads up what to expect, can anyone let me know what the fishing is like in these locations what species to expect and the type of ground, sand rock reef

You'll find all kinds of ground. Just tell the skipper what you want and he'll take you to it.

Rathmullan will throw up thornies in the Swilly, you'll struggle to find them out of Burtonport. Same with tope, they might still be around.

Expect pollock. Loads of pollock. And even more coalfish. They're the banker species up this way. In fact, if you don't want those, you'll have to tell the skipper.

At least a dozen different species onboard per day should be easily achievable, although the end of June won't be as good as the end of July, August or september.

Plenty of wrecks about, if you want to spend the time steaming to them.
